Each year, the Filipino American Association of Fairbanks, Inc. is sponsoring one student to receive scholarship.

Friendship Day Flier 2011

You are alll invited to participate and enjoy the International Friendship Day Celebration on Saturday, October 15 from Noon to 5:00 PM.  See attached flier.  Fil-Am society of Fairbanks will be selling pancit, chicken adobo, with rice.   Any profit from the sales will go to the Fil-Am treasury.

 About 20 members of the Fil-Am Society of Fairbanks had the opportunity to meet and have lunch with Randy Ruaro, Deputy Chief of Staff of Gov. Sean Parnell  at the Coop Diner.  Randy is of Filipino descent,  his father is originally from Ilocos, Randy was raised in Ketchikan.

The yummy Filipino lunch made up of sinigang , chicken pancit, pork asado with blueberry ice cream for dessert was prepared by Vangie Barbasa, Co-op Diner Restaurant Owner

Randy took some time off from his busy schedule to meet some of the Filipinos here in Fairbanks,  accompanied by Melissa Stepovich, Director of the Governor’s office here in Fairbanks.
