The Filipino-American students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks hosted a fundraising event on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. With the support from the Filipino American Society of Fairbanks, the group served filipino foods during lunch at the Wood Center. Many thanks to Jason Sinoben for being persistent for this event. Thanks to the Fil-Am community who provided the food, Yoly Ganacias, Rose Harvey, Sueyene Dallman, Elsie Beaman & friend, Josephine Sneed, Yvonne Temple, and Allan Mesina. The event raised $400.55. More fundraising events will come soon. Proceeds will be donated to the flood and landslide victims in the Philippines through the Philippine Red Cross.
A special thanks Ana Richards, Director of the Office of MultiCultural Affairs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for supporting our cause.
